Summer 2025 Engineering Internship Details
The Summer 2025 Internship Experience is a full time position June 3, 2025 to August 1, 2025. All interns will be based out of our main location in Parsons, Kansas. Anticipate the possibility of employer paid travel to project sites, events, and trainings during the internship. Position Summary
The Engineering Intern is an entry-level position. The intern will work with various team members and departments to allow the individual to gain experience in multiple engineering roles.
Engineering Intern Duties and Responsibilities will vary by intern based on skills, company needs and intern interest emphasis (Civil, Design, and Computer Science Engineering)
- Conduct research using the internet and other sources of information.
- Perform analytical work for design and/or manufacturing-related objectives.
- Assist company personnel in research and development related projects.
- Create memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents as needed by engineering personnel.
- Create or update systems or designated databases for specific department needs.
- Develop drawings using engineering principles, established company standards, procedures, and instructions.
- Complete tasks that assist daily engineering and project management functions.
- Follow best practices, policies and procedures in the design, layout, and documentation of all company products. Specific tasks may include making models, drawings and assemblies using the CAD system and other computer tools.
- Provide regular feedback and updates to project team members and immediate supervisor about the status of assigned tasks.
- Present project results to management and/or department personnel.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Engineering Intern Skills and Specifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and G-Suite.
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2018 and/or Autodesk Inventor 2018 or later is preferred.
- Solid problem-solving skills.
- Able to manage multitask work in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work proactively and independently on a broad variety of projects.
- Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in course of work.
Engineering Intern- Computer Science Emphasis- Education and Qualifications:
- College Level Junior or Senior
- Desired Major(s)- Computer Engineering, Computer Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Engineering.
Engineering Intern Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of Engineering Intern, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Engineering Intern Work Environment:
While performing the duties of Engineering Intern, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
