What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Coordinator position at NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley?
The Site Coordinator is responsible for ensuring adequate staffing, a quality learning environment, efficient daily operations, building a culture of learning & discovery, building a team to inspire student success and achievement and diligently track program outcomes. Ensure that the C3 Center serves middle school, high school and college students, creates ongoing learning opportunities and activities and tends to the health, social and emotional growth of youth participants.
Essential Functions: Build strong Parent/Guardian, School and Out-of-School relationships and linkages; Ensure adequate staff coverage to meet 1:13 staff/youth ratio; collaborate with staff to plan and implement curriculum, project-based and enrichment learning activities and age-appropriate social experiences; Inspire, nurture, mentor and encourage youth participants to succeed and achieve; Oversee youth participant academic progress and success by completing pre- and post-school year assessments as well as ongoing report card/teacher conferences; Deploy respectful disciplinary/restorative justice and redirection strategies; Promote smooth C3 Operations (including ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies/equipment, meal/snack pick-up and ensure cleanliness and orderliness); Ensure staff are well informed regarding school, community and NWBRV activities; Maintain all required/best practice information in individual files for all enrolled children and staff; maintain good, amiable and supportive relations and communications between staff and parents; ensure program policies and procedures are followed and updated as necessary; Notify parents of emergency situations; Assure staff completion of all administrative responsibilities including program notes, attendance, and cleaning; plan and lead regular staff meetings and increase personal education and youth development skills and competencies by completing professional development training; Ensure robust outcome tracking for all youth participants to assure compliance with grant and other funder requirements.
Other Duties: Provide information, outcomes and narratives as may be required for funder reports and evaluation; Assist with other program duties as needed; Contribute to the overall goals of the Neighborhood Learning & Community Engagement Business Line.
Staff Supervisory Responsibilities: Schedules and supervise all teachers, assistants and other support personnel who work in the C3 program, including Community Builders-In-Residence members
Qualifications & Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Education preferred. Must have experience working with youth in afterschool learning programs.
Licenses, Registrations and Certifications: RI Teaching Certificate ideal, but not required. On-going professional development or continuing education credits are mandatory. Must have reliable means of transportation to fulfill required duties on a daily basis, throughout the day.
Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements: Excellent writing and presentation skills, engaging communication style, knowledge of the local education system, proficiency in all Microsoft office suite programs and Google applications. Experience with program management preferred.
Physical Demands: Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Work Environment, Dynamics and Environmental Conditions: Typical work days are Monday through Friday, 2 PM – 7 PM. The Site Coordinator will work 2 of the program days with additional time for admin responsibilities.
