Are you a skilled Loan Officer looking for an exciting opportunity to advance your career in mortgage loan packaging and real estate financing? We are seeking a dedicated Loan Originator to join our team and work closely with our Vice President & Chief Operating Officer. This is your chance to make a significant impact by assisting clients with their lending needs and guiding them through the mortgage process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Interaction: Meet with and interview potential and current clients to understand their lending needs, including first-time mortgages and refinancing existing loans.
- Mortgage Education: Explain the differences between various types of mortgages and their approval requirements. Prepare and present customized lending packages based on client specifications.
- Application Assistance: Help clients complete mortgage applications, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.
- Loan Review: Review loan applications, gather credit histories and reports, and assess applicants’ capacity to repay and default risk.
- Market Knowledge: Stay updated on local real estate market trends, current and predicted lending rates, and changes in rules and regulations.
- Networking: Develop and maintain contacts with local realtors, developers, financial institutions, and builders to promote and encourage the use of our residential mortgage services.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- This position requires a Residential Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) License
- This position requires a valid Texas Driver’s License
- Need at least two years of experience in mortgage loan packaging or real estate financing
- Knowledge of state and federal loan regulations
- Ability to interpret complex housing rules
- Strong organizational skills
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to work well with colleagues and the public
- Effective oral communication skills
- Ability to comprehend written materials
- Willingness to learn through oral instruction and observation
