What are the responsibilities and job description for the Check & Straightener - Hand Former (Aerospace Sheet Metal) position at Neill Aircraft Company?
Summary
- Forms and / or Check and Straightens metal pieces per Work Instructions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned;
- Use hand tools and Shrinking-Stretchers to flatten, form, shape, metal parts as described by Work Instructions.
- Read and follow Work Instructions.
- Have basic Blue Print reading skills.
- Have basic computer skills to clock in/out Job Activity in MRP System (Epicor).
- Ensure that correct type and quantity of parts/material were issued and that prior operations are complete.
- Use measuring tools, Jigs, Fixtures, Shop Aids to ensure required dimensions are achieved.
- Performs or assists in preventive maintenance of equipment as required.
- Work in a fast paced environment with fast changing priorities and report productivity to the supervisor.
- Keeping work area clean and organized is required.

Education and/or Experience
- Have basic experience in the use of hand tools. Have prior sheet metal experience in Aerospace or equivalent.
- Have prior experience with AS9100 Standards or equivalent.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Understanding of machine shop equipment and general operations to include set up and running of drill presses, grinders, clamps, holding devises, shop aids, fixtures, measuring devices etc.
