Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled TIG Welder with aerospace industry experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding aerospace components per customer blueprints and specifications while ensuring high-quality standards and compliance with industry regulations. This position requires technical expertise, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:30AM - 2:00PM
Hourly Rate: $27.00 - $30.00 (DOE)
Responsibilities
- Follow established procedures and weld schedules (WPS).
- Work from drawings and shop orders.
- Visually inspect own work to verify compliance with drawings and shop orders.
- Meet performance standards in a fast-paced sheet metal and machining job shop.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and management.
- Provide input to Engineering and Tooling departments for developing efficient weld fixtures and shop aids.
- Review, edit, and coordinate welding instruction updates with Engineering.
- Complete necessary paperwork and computer entries accurately and on time.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Maintain good attendance and take ownership of all welding activities.
Competencies & Qualifications
- Technical ability to weld aerospace products per customer requirements and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail to identify minor inconsistencies or discrepancies before welding.
- Problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues proactively.
- Ability to communicate basic, routine information regarding daily tasks.
- Must pass groove and fillet weld qualification on material .040” thick.
- Must pass welder qualification in stainless steel, aluminum, and nickel-based alloys (CP titanium a plus).
- Must be certified to AWS D17.1.
- Must pass AWS Jaeger J2 visual acuity test.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) experience.
- Familiarity with aerospace TIG welding specifications (Boeing, Lockheed, UTAS, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret weldment blueprints and symbols.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to Continuous Improvement (CI) principles to minimize rework and scrap.
- Must have personal welding tools (helmet, gloves, etc.).

This position requires access to U.S. Munitions List (USML) technical data. Hence the individual must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident or otherwise be specifically authorized by a license from the U.S. government to have access to USML technical data.
