Job Description: Bartender

Job Summary:

The Bartender mixes various alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and creates recipes to

delight customers, while providing excellent service in a cheerful and energetic manner.

They also take on the role of server as food orders are requested.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

 Take orders, collect payment, prepare, and serve alcoholic and non-

alcoholic beverages to bar and dining room guests

 Create new beverage recipes

 Plan and present bar menus

 Take orders for food served at the bar and deliver to customer ensuring proper

presentation and quality standards are met

 Seize opportunities to upsell products

 Anticipate customer’s needs and offer recommendations

 Check IDs to ensure customers meet legal drinking age

 Monitor alcohol consumption of patrons

 Provide support to Servers

 Keep bar area, glassware, and bar tables cleaned and sanitized to comply with food

safety standards

 Maintain inventory of bar and supplies, including assist with ordering

 Manage the bar till

 Perform all other related duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

 Creativity to design new and unique menu items to attract customers

 Attention to detail, especially when mixing beverages

 Strong communication skills when interacting with team members and customers

 Ability to memorize customer requests

 Must be neat and tidy in appearance

 Flexibility, as hours may vary and include weekends, evenings, and

holidays

 Must be able to work well under pressure

 In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local food handling regulations

 Knowledge of all legal beverage service guidelines and state liquor laws, including

proper identification, refusal of service, and shutoff procedures

Education and Experience:

 Must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent required

 1 – 2 years previous experience as a Bartender preferred

Physical Requirements:

 Prolonged periods standing, bending, using hands and appliances, and performing

repetitive motions

 Ability to work in elevated temperatures

 Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

 Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $28.32 - $30.85 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
