About the Position
Nelson Bros Ready Mix is hiring a Fleet Maintenance Coordinator to manage the service, repairs, and upkeep of our fleet of commercial trucks. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will develop and oversee preventative maintenance schedules, coordinate with mechanics and vendors, and maintain accurate records of service history and compliance reports.
Main Responsibilities:
- Preventative Maintenance Scheduling: Develop and implement maintenance schedules for our ready-mix and aggregate trucks to ensure they remain operational and compliant with regulations.
- Work Order Management: Create and assign work orders for maintenance and repairs, tracking their progress and ensuring timely completion.
- Compliance & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of service history, DOT inspections, and compliance reports to ensure our fleet meets all applicable regulations.
- Purchasing & Inventory Management: Collaborate with the Parts & Inventory Specialist to manage inventory levels and order necessary parts and equipment for scheduled and emergency repairs.
- Vendor Communication: Serve as a liaison between mechanics, drivers, and fleet managers, communicating with dealers, parts suppliers, and third-party repair shops as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in fleet maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
