We are experiencing a surge in growth following the pandemic and are in need of a strong Senior Property Staff Accountant with expert Property Management Accounting knowledge to assist with transaction posting and reconciliation, expense classification, financial statement preparation, budget preparation, managing the monthly close process, providing guidance to current staff, variance reporting and general ledger analysis and reconciliation. - Assist Controller with the roll out of property level budgets.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances and providing insights to management.
- Collaborate with Controllers on improvements to existing process and procedure
- Conduct financial analysi to support strategic dcision-making, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate and enforce paperless document receipt, circulation and storage
- Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors, preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquires.
- Coordinate the recording and processing of Corporate AP payments, wire transfers and ACH
- Download payroll reports and upload to accounting system; record intercompany receipts
- Help assist accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in accounting operations and reporting.
- Manage Corporate/ Property Management division’s complete financial accounting and reporting
- Manage the monthly financial statement close process including reconciliations for bank, prepaids, accruals, intercompany expenses, loans, etc.
- Prepare and oversee the preapartion of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Prepare and post AP corrections and Journal Entries
- Prepare financial statements with an eye toward proper classification and presentation
- Reconcile inter-company allocations of corporate paid expense; manage and maintain intercompany expense schedules and reconciliation
- Work closely with other departments to provide financial iinsights and support business initiatives.
Ideal Qualifications:
· 6 years’ experience as a Staff Accountant
* Experience with Entrata
· Construction or real estate industry preferred.
· Strong knowledge of GAAP, specifically in the areas of financial reporting
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
