Sitework Construction Estimator
We are looking for an energetic, motivated professional estimator to join our estimating team for our Earthwork/Utility construction division. We are looking for someone with experience in all phases of earthwork and wet utility projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparation, review and approval of cost estimates for earthwork and wet utility projects
- Quantity take-offs for earthwork proposals
- Modeling for GPS dozers / blades
- Customer relations and solicitation of new clients
Estimating / Bidding:
- Identify/evaluate/understand plans/bid documents to assist with bid qualification
- Conduct pre-bid site visits for all bid projects
- Conduct AGTEK take-offs for bid proposals
- Conduct detailed computer-aided quantity takeoffs using CAD files
- Utilize estimating software for accurate, cost effective bid proposals
- Oversee the collection and tabulation of historical production data
- Professionally solicit vendors and suppliers
- Conduct “value engineering” on all project bids
Sales & Marketing:
- Develop and promote necessary inter and intra company relationships, building the team as necessary to bring in profitable work.
- Maintain and improve upon current vendor / customer relationships
Qualifications:
- Possess an undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management, or related construction academia.
- A minimum of 5 years work experience in the civil construction industry, and a minimum of 2 years working within the Denver Metro Area.
- Computer fluent with a strong background knowledge of Internet software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software as well as Estimating and Take-off software (HCSS, Viewpoint, Agtek)
- Must be willing to travel to sites to verify existing conditions.
