Seeking a VP of Sales with supplier and distributor wine experience located in the NYC area to join our client's team.
What you will be doing:
• Responsible for leading a team who is responsible for developing, directing, and driving the strategic sales plan. This includes route to market strategy and design through distributor/broker alignment, transitions, communications, and agreements in addition to all accompanying process, planning, and collaboration efforts both externally and internally.
• Increase efficiency and standardization of routine processes including communications from corporate to the sales organization.
• Oversee efforts related to systems/tools and process development to simplify and focus the work of the Field Sales team, such as goal setting, STI and tracking of execution efforts. Manage cross-functional partnership to internal support teams.
• Oversee budget management, including establishing budgeting parameters, budget adjustments, reporting across all divisions and reports budget performance to the Chief Sales Officer W&S.
• Review and sets resources to support the execution of key Sales goals by aligning Marketing and National Sales resources. Insure all BUs maintain JDE budget tracking and system reflect current expenditures.
Sales Communication:
• Oversee the Sales strategies and execution of the communication function by developing an internal and external communication system that improves performance and provides aligned and clear messaging to the Sales organization.
• Ongoing responsibility for development of distributor alignment with the Division; oversight of the development of economic models and assess alternative term adjustments to determine the cost benefit to support negotiations with new distributors and refinements of existing agreements. This entails overall management of the distributor transition and change process, as well as creation and implementation of programs that further expand the capabilities of our distributor partners.
What You Bring:
• Preferred 5 years field supplier sales experience in wine
• Bachelors and MBA Degree Preferred
• Wine beverage industry preferred
• Must have advanced leadership and management skills with a proven track record of effective delegating and directing to meet and exceed results.
• Detail-minded, well organized and a self-starter who must be willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done right and on a timely basis
• The ability to handle a heavy workload and can work under pressure while handling frequent changes in direction, without losing focus
• Requires excellent interpersonal skills.
• Must be a team player, an influencer and consensus-builder who enjoys being part of a team effort
• Must have strong experience in quantitative and analytical work (i.e. margin analyses, budget management analyses, etc.)
• Requires excellent written and oral communication skills and must be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
• Must have the ability to apply advanced project management skills along with the ability to make decisions independently utilizing strategic thinking.
• Must be able to handle confidential and/or sensitive information in a professional manner
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and ability to learn proprietary software applications
• Must be a self-starter, high energy, resourceful, responsible, flexible, and strong organization skills

Salary : $165,000 - $170,000
