Job Summary:
Custodian I at Nelson County Public Schools
This role involves maintaining a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean environment for students to learn and develop. The successful candidate will assist in keeping the building and its surroundings neat and clean, regulate heating systems, shovel/sand walks, inspect exit doors, sweep/vacuum assigned areas, scrub/disinfect toilet floors, wash windows, and perform yard keeping chores as needed.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, speak effectively before groups, add/subtract two-digit numbers, multiply/divide with 10's/100's, and apply common sense to carry out instructions. Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, using hands to handle objects, reaching, climbing/balancing, stooping/kneeling/crouching, talking/hearing, tasting/smelling, and occasionally lifting/moving up to 50 pounds.
