M-TH 5am-3:30pm 4-10 hour work week, with overtime!

POSITION OVERVIEW: The press operator is responsible for ensuring quality standards are being met while always upholding safety principles and guidelines. Operators will be cross trained, and move from one machine, area, or department to meet customer needs and demands.
DEPARTMENT AREAS: tube bending equipment, presses, CNC Turret Press and Brake Press, laser cutting equipment, shears, resistance and fusion welding, auto welder, assembly, end finishing equipment, painting and packaging.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES: The ideal candidate for the press operator will understand and follow all safety rules and guidelines. Safely operate assigned machines to produce finished product in a final assembly. Posses the ability to read and understand blueprints and work instructions. Utilize hand tools, power tools and other special equipment within department Accurately utilize measuring devices such as measuring tape, calipers, and pi tape. The operator will be responsible for cleaning and inspecting completed parts. Operators must utilize the common approach to continuous improvement and keep their work areas safe and clean (5S- Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate for the press operator will have 1 previous year of manufacturing or production experience, however this is not a requirement. Nelson is willing to train the right individual with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn!
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The press operator must have a positive attitude and act professionally. The press operator must be comfortable working in a group and individual setting. They must possess the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. They must have the skills and ability to problem solve and resolve issues. The press operator must possess the ability to lift, push, pull 25 pounds and possess the ability to stand, bend, reach and walk for at least 10 hours.
