The schedule below showcases a 45-hour work week that we are currently working.
Shift A: (45-hour schedule below.)
Monday – Friday | 6:30 am – 4:00 pm
Shift B: (45-hour schedule below.)
Sunday – Thursday | 9:30 pm – 6:30 am
Duties:
- Oversee the entire production process from planning to completion. Works closely with Production Planner to understand schedule and resource requirements to ensure there are no production delays.
- Motivates, supports, and provides guidance to production staff.
- Sets production goals for each manufacturing team and ensures goals are met while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Assists in the development and training of production staff. Develop workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
- Implements lean initiatives and continually strive to improve production throughput. Monitors production cost and implements cost saving strategies.
- Work with team leaders, shop personnel and inventory specialists to optimize production workflow and performance. Evaluate and coordinate raw materials and equipment with purchasing personnel to ensure materials and tools are available for production.
- Balance existing labor and machine capacity to maximize efficiency and production throughput.
- Can seamlessly fill in for the Production Planner as needed (in the event of vacation, illness, etc).
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the manufacturing environment and / or a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, operations management, or related field. If a degree has not been attained, then relevant work experience to compensate.
- Firm understanding of the manufacturing process, including but not limited to fabrication, welding, machining, painting, and final assembly.
- Must possess strong leadership and team management skills.
- Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, and possess strong communication and presentation skills.
- Must be able to multi-task, critically think, problem solve, and have time management skills.
- Must have knowledge of safety regulations, and quality control standards.
- Must be computer literate and be able to work with Microsoft Office applications and ERP software.
- Must be able to read blueprints, drawings, understand tolerances, and symbols.
- Previous manufacturing experience and familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
