The Operation Manager for the NMG nameplates business is responsible for overseeing the entire production process of personalized nameplates, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products while managing materials, labor, processes, and equipment efficiently, while adhering to quality, reliability, and culture standards and customer specifications in the nameplate business.
Key Responsibilities :
- Production Planning :
- Develop and manage production schedules based on customer orders and projected demand.
- Optimize production flow to minimize lead times and maximize efficiency.
- Forecast material needs and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts.
- Quality Control :
- Establish and enforce strict quality standards for all aspects of nameplate production, including material, engraving, and finishing. Including but not limited to clear understanding of ISO 13485, AS 9100, and NADCAP standards.
- Conduct regular quality inspections to identify and address any defects.
- Implement corrective actions to maintain consistent quality levels.
- Team Management :
- Lead and supervise a team of production workers, including engravers, assemblers, and quality inspectors.
- Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and monitor individual performance.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance skills.
- Develop the Power of One Culture of One Vision, One Message, One team environment.
- Build personal relationships with clients.
- Equipment Maintenance :
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of all production equipment, including engraving machines and finishing tools, and safety.
- Identify and address equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Customer Service :
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and specifications for custom nameplates.
- Address any customer concerns related to production timelines, quality, or design.
- Develop deep client relationships.
- Cost Management :
- Monitor production costs, including materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and implement cost-saving measures.
