Job Summary: Reporting to the plant GM, the Production Manager, Nameplates, will oversee all aspects of production operations at our Berlin, Wisconsin, facility. This role is responsible for ensuring efficient manufacturing processes, meeting production targets, maintaining high-quality standards, and fostering a safe and collaborative work environment.
The Production Manager for the NMG nameplates business leads the entire production process of custom nameplates, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products while managing materials, labor, processes, and equipment efficiency, adhering to quality, reliability, and culture standards and customer specifications in the nameplate business.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning and Oversight:
Optimize production flow to minimize lead times and maximize efficiency.
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to address production challenges and drive innovation.
Quality Control:
Enforce strict quality standards for all aspects of nameplate production, including material, decorating, and fabricating, including but not limited to a clear understanding of ISO 13485, AS 9100, and NADCAP standards.
With the support of QA, conduct regular quality inspections to identify and address any defects.
Implement continuous improvement actions to maintain quality levels.
Team Management:
Lead and mentor a team of production workers to ensure optimal performance and engagement.
Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and monitor individual performance.
Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance skills.
Develop the “Power of One Culture of One Vision, One Message, One Team” environment.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accountability.
Customer Service:
Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements and specifications for production in quality, in quantity, and on time.
Address any customer concerns related to production timelines, quality, or design.
Cost Management:
Monitor production costs, including materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
Identify opportunities and implement processes for cost optimization, waste reduction, and cost-saving measures.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of experience in production management, preferably in nameplates, graphics, or related industries.
- Leadership skills to manage and motivate a production team.
- Strong understanding of automation and production processes, including engraving techniques, material handling, and finishing methods.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for production planning and reporting.
- Ability to adapt to changing customer needs and production demands.
- This position is an on-site role.
