We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Professional Development Assistant to join our team within the Human Resources department at an AmLaw 65 law firm. This role will support the execution of firm-wide education programs, manage attorney Bar and licensing processes, and assist with other professional development initiatives. The ideal candidate excels in a fast-paced environment and can handle competing priorities with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
The Professional Development Assistant will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating CLE events, including arranging internal events, managing calendars, confirming speakers, and ensuring deadlines are met. They will oversee documentation and reporting by compiling CLE certificates, tracking attendance, and maintaining compliance records. Additional duties include organizing and tracking bar dues submissions and ensuring all admitted attorneys meet their licensing obligations. This role requires strong communication and follow-up skills to draft routine emails and updates regarding CLE deadlines, event reminders, and firm-sponsored programs.
The Professional Development Assistant will coordinate evaluations and feedback processes, maintain the firm’s internal databases, and assist attorneys with account setups and troubleshooting. Other responsibilities include supporting Associate, Counsel, and Paralegal Committees while managing administrative tasks related to professional development programs.
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of professional development experience in a law firm, law school, or professional services setting. Experience with CLE in an AmLaw 100 environment is preferred. The role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with platforms such as SurveyMonkey, GoToWebinar, CultureAmp, and viGlobal is a plus.
