Nelson\Nygaard is currently seeking a highly organized and motivated full-time Marketing Assistant in either one of the following offices: Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Oakland, CA; or Los Angeles, CA to join our eight-member, national marketing team. The Marketing Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the Marketing/Proposal Manager. The position will help support all Nelson\Nygaard’s offices in proposal preparation, business development, marketing materials creation, and database input. What we are looking for in a candidate is someone willing to grow, who is confident and eager to contribute to the marketing team, and who brings initiative and creativity to the team.

What you’ll do
- Complete requests for subconsultant marketing materials from prime consultants
- Coordinate with technical staff to edit and update staff bios and resumes
- Locate, edit, and update (as needed) project profiles and references
- Fill out forms as requested
- Assist coordinators in developing proposal responses
- Locate and tailor project profiles as needed
- Locate appropriate photos and graphics
- Complete required forms
- Save updated materials to file at proposal closeout
- Support the firm’s business development efforts
- Prepare information for our daily intranet/newsletter
- Find and enter opportunities (leads and RFPs/RFQs) in our database
- Complete client vendor/purchaser registrations or roster applications
- Take on special projects as needed, including client research or grant tracking organization
- Assist coordinators in tracking project leads and developing collateral, as requested
- Update and maintain library of marketing materials
- Update staff resumes
- Write new project profiles
- Confirm/update project references
- Update tracking/finding lists
What you bring
- Candidates should have a B.A./B.S. in a related field such as journalism, English, business, planning, communications, or marketing
- Good writing/editing and communication skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and pitch in where needed
- Excellent organizational and customer service skills
- Ability to work overtime, when required to meet deadlines
- Familiar with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, needed, and some experience with InDesign a plus
- Ability to work in a team environment, across multiple offices

Benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, pre-tax transit and bicycling benefit, a 401k program, life insurance and paid time off. Additionally, we offer flexibility for work from home up to 2 days per week.
