Shop Mechanic

Nelson Pipeline is seeking a highly motivated Shop Mechanic who will be responsible for repairing, diagnosing, inspecting and maintaining earth moving equipment, primarily servicing rentals and some customer owned equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery and equipment following specifications and manuals
• Visually inspects and listens to machines and equipment to diagnose cause of malfunctions
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, and mechanical systems
• May operate mobile equipment including service truck to retrieve down truck assets
• Able to read schematics (both electrical and hydraulic)
• Perform welding, repair and fabrication
• Purchase parts for repairs as needed
• Communicates timely and effectively with shop leadership to keep them informed about major problems
• Ability to submit work orders through systems
• Adheres to all safety rules
• Maintaining the work areas in a clean, safe, and orderly manner on a continuous basis
• Other job duties as assigned
