The ideal candidate will manage criminal DWI / DUI Cases and resolve legal disputes on behalf of clients by developing agreements, negotiating contacts, setting claims and advocating for clients in court or Zoom... This individual will build client relationships and provide an excellent Customer experience for clients. this role will work on various research matters, related to communication with the SSA, DDS and ODAR and more. You will have the opportunity to provide substantive legal advice on various subjects and expand your skills in multiple,complex areas of technology, health and law. You will be expected to work independently with clients and collaboratively with business leaders
Qualifications
•
For hire as an Associate Attorney:
•
Admission to the Bar of the State of Minnesota and two years or more of experience as a practicing attorney
•
Experience working in a county attorney's office (or equivalent office in Minnesota )
•
Local laws and ordinances, established precedents, and legal reference sources
•
The principles, methods, and practices of legal research and investigation
•
Judicial procedures and the rules of evidence
•
The pleading and practice of effective presentation of court cases
•
Provide excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and persuasive public speaking skills
•
Charge criminal cases
•
Try cases independently
•
Establish effective working relationships and to collaborate with other county departments
•
Final candidates may be required to complete a drug test and/or background check
Responsibilities
Prepare cases for prosecution of criminal statutes and/or fraud cases for prosecutions
•
Interview prospective complainants and police officers relative to the violation of statutes and filing of complaints
•
Conduct necessary legal research; keep case records and make reports; perform necessary research, work investigations, and preparation of briefs for the trial of cases involving criminal prosecution
•
Try Civil and Criminal cases and prosecute appeals
•
Prepare briefs, opinions, pleadings, and other legal papers; confer with attorneys, other county employees and other interested parties regarding criminal prosecutions or civil cases
•
Confer with and provide legal advice to county departments regarding the legality of proposed expenditures and other actions
Benefits

Attorney, Associate salary: $55,552.91- $105,687.09 Annually
•
Attorney salary: $76,047.81 - $130,043.87 Annually
•
New employees who are hired into hybrid positions between June 8, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $800 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment
•
