What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Clerk position at Nema Inc?
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for assisting with all Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Invoicing functions. This position will work closely with the Accounting Specialist and the Controller to maintain day-to-day accounting functions as well as month-end closing functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Enter all incoming AP invoices into system for payment processing.
- Present list of weekly checks/ACH/Wire Transfers to Accounting Specialist and/or Controller for processing.
- Mails checks weekly.
- File paperwork weekly.
- Distribute credit card statements to employees with credit cards and ensure receipts are returned in a timely manner.
- Create Purchase Orders as needed for company purchases.
- Fuel tax Processing & reporting
- Process invoices weekly for all customers.
- Post cash receipts weekly.
- Assists with Month end duties as directed.
- Other duties as assigned by Accounting Specialist, Controller or President.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Bachelors Degree (in Accounting or Finance) preferred
- 1-2 years Office experience Required
- 1-2 years Accounting Experience Required.
- 3-5 years Accounting Experience preferred.
- Strong analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
- Trustworthy with high ability to maintain confidential information
