What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Manager position at Nemacolin Woodlands?
The IT Manager is responsible for all aspects of managing the performance of the Service Desk Analyst staff and providing exceptional service and effective technology-based solutions to the resort. To be effective in this role, the candidate must be aware of the most up-to-date methods and technologies in the Information Technology (I.T.) industry. The Manager is a key IT leadership role and will interact with senior management to provide best practices and proven solutions that will improve and enhance the delivery of products, systems, software across the resort.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Help desk staff in a professional and efficient manner
- Assist in the creation, communication, implementation, and enforcement of policies and procedures regarding I.T. and telecommunications
- Provide technical solutions to improve the general operation of the resort's IT systems and software products
- Responsible for leveraging technology that improves overall client/guest/associate services
- Assist and responds to all guest, group, and associate IT technical issues and requests; trouble-shooting in a responsive manner with attention to follow-up, timeliness, and resolution of issues.
- Interact and maintains strong relationships with vendors; negotiate contracts and pricing.
- Provide third-level technical support to end-users.
Additional Responsibilities
- Responsible for the implementation of projects set forth by the I.T. Director
- Create and sustain associate engagement with a focus on increasing associate satisfaction, and a positive and professional work atmosphere
- Provide coaching and guidance to Help desk staff to ensure proper training, performance, and productivity goals are aligned with I.T. and resort strategies
- Communicate all resort news and events to increase the Help desk staff's knowledge, awareness, and understanding of current financial, operations, sales, guest experiences/activities, resort Forbes 5-Star standards/behaviors, and HR activities
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- At least five years of experience with LAN/ WAN and Telecommunications technologies
- The ability to manage a technical staff of a least five people, and work within a budget
- At least four years experience in the field of I.T.
- Project management, vendor management, and negotiation skills
- General knowledge of the hotel accounting practices is required
- Must be technically and interpersonal skill to handle third-level, end-user support of common applications and telecommunications equipment
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Have a desire to work with other people in a team environment
- Must be congenial, friendly, service-oriented, and well organized
- Must be flexible in scheduling and be able to work evenings, holidays, and weekends
- Must have the ability to take direction, give direction, and be able to work under stressful situations
- Must be able to speak English
