Position Title: Chef
Job Location: Nemadji Golf Course
Start Date: Spring 2025
Reports to: Food and Beverage Manager
Position Summary:Prepares food in accordance with Company recipes and standards, according to the menu in a timely manner. Will be asked to occasionally grill outside, as well as executing up to 220 person banquet events with buffet style foods, as well as planted meals for other banquet events.
Prepares food to Nemadji quality and recipe standards while following all county health department requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare all required food items in accordance with established portion and presentation standards.
- Set up service units and prep cook station with needed items. Maintain and break down as appropriate.
- Organize, plan and execute banquet and tournament events, cooking for an upwards of 100-220 patrons simultaneously.
- Cost analysis to reach desired COGS% as well as accurately build a menu at appropriate food cost
- Ensure that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary according to company standards and state and local health and safety regulations
- Maintain security and safety in the kitchen according to company policy
- Maintain neat professional appearance.
- Observe personal cleanliness and sanitation standards at all times
- Assist the Chef in the requisition of items needed to produce menu items
- Cover, date and neatly store all leftover products that are re-usable.
- Perform other duties as required
- Train and educate new staff on procedures, recipe following, par levels and spec/prep sheets.
Qualifications:
- High school required
- ServSafe Required before first day of work
- 1 year culinary experience preferred, preferably in the golf industry
- Demonstrate quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including nights/weekends.
- Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations
- Able to work during the months of May through the end of October and overtime when requested
- Valid Drivers License
Compensation Range:
$15-$25 per hour and includes conditional golf privileges
