JOB TITLE : IT Support Specialist

DEPARTMENT : Information Technology

JOB RELATIONSHIPS :

Responsible to : Director of Information Technology

Responsible for : None

Interrelationships : Works cooperatively with all hospital departments

JOB SUMMARY :

Installs and maintains computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality. Will train users of the systems to ensure appropriate and safe usage of the IT infrastructure. Will maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology on business sustainability.

REQUIREMENTS :

Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and Microsoft Office365 applications;

Knowledge of computer hardware, a variety of internet applications and basic networking;

Skills to investigate issues and the ability to pay close attention to detail;

Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills;

Excellent communication skills both interpersonal and written;

Outstanding organizational and time-management skills;

In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks;

Strong working knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles; and

Reliable transportation 24 hours per day 7 days a week to participate in on-call requirement.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

Experience : No specific experience is required however a strong aptitude for technology and computer operating systems is necessary to be successful in this position.

JOB DUTIES (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

Set up and maintain workstations with computers and necessary hardware and peripheral devices.

Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications assigned through appropriate processes.

Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.

Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work.

Create and maintain an application inventory list.

Participate in orientation and provide guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment. This includes new employees and on upgraded internal software programs.

Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)

Maintain records / logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule

Participate in rotating On-call schedule.

Participate in incident response to security incidents, including investigation, mitigation, and reporting.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

The IT Support Specialist is responsible for installing and maintaining computer systems and networks to ensure optimal functionality. Included in the responsibilities is training users on the systems to promote safe and effective use of our IT infrastructure. Additionally, this position plays a key role in maintaining and updating our computer systems and networks, contributing to the sustainability and efficiency of our technology operations. This position offers opportunities for growth and skill development, allowing for additional levels of expertise and advanced responsibilities over time.
