Production Position
Job Description:
Associates’ responsibilities include quality and quantity of the equipment in terms of operational and set-up. Must be able to recognize problems of the machine.
The goal is to produce as many of the product as possible at the best quality rate following Safety regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the safety, quality, and productivity performance of the assigned machine.
- Follow all Nemak global, site and plant safety rules and regulations at all times.
- Keep cell area clean of flash, fluids and other debris.
- Complete daily process sheets and other production and quality documentation as required.
- Be able to carry out all inspections on product – visual checks, gage checks, and leak tests - per the frequency indicated in applicable Work Instructions.
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs and adjustments to the equipment and tooling to ensure maximum uptime.
- Carry out assigned preventive maintenance functions at correct frequency.
- For major equipment and breakdowns, notify supervisor, immediately call for maintenance support and then actively assist maintenance crew to rectify condition of the equipment.
- Actively support engineering, quality and productivity improvement projects – test cards, DOEs, PCRs – as required and as instructed by production management.
- Ability to work overtime on short notice, including weekends.
- Ability to have regular physical attendance per the regular shift schedule.
- Other duties as required by the Supervisor and/or other management personnel.
Minimum requirements (training, experience, education):
- High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in equipment maintenance technician or tooling maintenance technician.
- Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot basic equipment issues
- Completion of training and verification for position as documented in the NAL training system
Supervisory Requirements:
- No supervisory requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift/push a minimum of 70 lbs.
- The job duties require regular standing and walking indoors and outdoors, as well as bending, stooping, and climbing of stairs throughout the shift.
- Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
