What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Projects Coordinator position at NEMCSA?
Summary of Duties:
Coordinate evidence-based disease prevention/health promotion programs including Personal Action Toward Health, A Matter of Balance, Powerful Tools for Caregivers, etc., as well as other caregiver programming such as the Kinship Care Program. Coordinate efforts for other special grant opportunities that become available. This position will serve as a technical resource for adult day services, caregiver and dementia programs and may require participation in committee assignments. Provide annual assessments of adult day providers in line with current funding standards. Provide technical assistance to county focal points for assigned programs through attendance at meetings, regular communications, community presentations and other activities.

· Develop short term and strategic goals for assigned programs and monitor progress of goals while making appropriate adjustments to ensure success.
· Monitor, assess and provide technical assistance to the National Family Caregiver Program contractors and adult day providers, including the development of best practices collaborations.
· Assure compliance with all federal, state and other grantor requirements for assigned programs.
· Assist the AAA Director in developing the individual county community plans for analyzing elder readiness and gaps.
· Develop materials and marketing tools for assigned programs and aging network initiatives, including social media and website content and design.
· Coordinate and deliver various educational events/services such as Dementia Consultations and education, Caregiver Webinars and Conference, Healthy Living, podcasts, etc.
· Recruit and train leaders, volunteers, and community participants for assigned programs and coordinate regional schedule of community classes as appropriate.
· In conjunction with Leadership, conduct and coordinate leader trainings, fidelity checks, and classes as required for the various evidence-based programs.
· Manage and ensure completion of surveys, evaluations and completion of appropriate documentation of all assigned programs.
· Ensure required data is collected and entered in the appropriate databases in a timely manner and generate appropriate reports.
· Draft and recommend appropriate forms, policies and procedures to AAA Director and ensure consistent and complete application of policies, procedures, budget requirements, incentive payments and other requirements across the spectrum of programs.
· Establish and foster relationships with agency internal departments, the Department of Health and Human Services, guardianship organizations, and schools to assist families and create awareness of Kinship or other National Family Caregiver Programs.
· Develop collaborations and networks with community partners, medical facilities, and other appropriate entities to ensure awareness of programs and to build successful relationships that will ensure proliferation of evidence-based programs throughout the region.
· Represent the Region 9 Area Agency on Aging at appropriate community events and county meetings.
· Develop additional community resources and programs as funding opportunities arise.
· Provide community education/presentations as requested.
