Nemours is seeking an Audiological Technician (Full-Time), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida.

Nemours Children's Hospital, Florida is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 130-bed pediatric hospital also features the area's only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. A hospital designed by families for families, Nemours Children's Hospital blends the healing power of nature with the latest in healthcare innovation to deliver world-class care to the children of Central Florida and beyond. In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve, we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region.

This position serves as an important liaison between the audiology supervisor, staff audiologists, patient/ families, and other care team members. Offers support services to the Audiology and ENT providers at Nemours Children's Hospital/and the Central Florida satellites.

This position is also responsible for independently completing Newborn Hearing Screenings (NBHS) and all related documentations.

Essential Functions:


  • Performs hearing screens on newborns in the parent's room (unless conditions do not permit) using guidelines and protocols established and approved by the Newborn Hearing Screen Director.
  • Adheres to program guidelines regarding screen results, verifying insurance information with parent and following proper batching procedures for billing.
  • Follows established guidelines for security and identification of infants as established by the Newborn Hearing Screen Program within the program manual located on site
  • Provides educational information and literature regarding the importance of early intervention and prevention of hearing loss to the parent or guardian
  • Reports all related documentation to the State of Florida Newborn Hearing and Screening Program
  • Participates in facility-based orientation, classes, etc., including HIPPA training, to update or improve upon the procedures or protocol of, and/or to maintain a relevant knowledge of the Newborn Hearing Screen Program
  • Provides administrative support for all providers, maintaining all schedules, templates, and submitting all CCR's for template change request.
  • Provide cross coverage with clinical audiology assistant.
  • Prepare correspondence (Word), reports (Excel) and PowerPoint presentations along with occasional project work for monthly provider meetings and quarterly division meetings.

Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma required.
  • Qualified candidates should possess ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team, excellent communication skills and sensitivity when handling newborns.
  • Able to perform data entry.
