This position is responsible for auditing & correcting all documents entered into the electronic medical records by Nemours’ associates to assure that clinical information is accurate and available for patient care in a timely manner.

Position Responsibilities
- Audit and correct (when necessary) a percentage of abstracted/verified data to ensure all documentation/data is free of defects.
- Correct errors that are reported via Nemours’ associates and/or the interface error work queues (IEWs).
- Completes research, provides education, feedback and ongoing training using the QC worksheet tool.
- Approach problems with strong independent judgment, critical thinking, and communication skills that require logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
- Proficient in the following: EMR, Document Imaging Software; Optical Character Recognition Software, clinical documentation for which they audit; and Microsoft Office/Outlook.
- Maintains standard of accuracy and productivity concerning the QC process.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of the HIM policies and reliable methods governing abstracting and all verification processes.
- Manages email pool and provides training and/or corrections based on the questions received.
- Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination from other departments.
- Capable of working with dashboards, statistical, and analytical reports.
- Associates degree required
- Minimum of one year experience required
