Nemours is seeking a Perinatal Sonographer, FULL-TIME, to join our team in Panama City, Florida.
The Perinatal Sonographer will provide high quality ultrasound for interpretation and diagnosis by a maternal fetal medicine physician. Act as a mentor and resource for medical students, residents, fellows and sonographers in performing high quality fetal ultrasound scan /fetal echocardiograms as well as assisting them in developing other clinical and administrative skills necessary to their roles. Actively participate in Performance Improvement Projects.
Perform perinatal ultrasounds on patients. Flexible and provides coverage at Panama City Florida and inpatient call coverage as directed by Perinatologist
Responsibilities:
- Operate all equipment to perform Perinatal Ultrasound. Use correct parameters based on patient age and diagnosis. This may include but is not limited to 2D, 3D, Doppler and color Doppler.
- Demonstrates proficient skills in basic OB imaging to include Anatomy scan, growth scan, Biophysical Profiles and Doppler studies with a willingness to develop expertise in Perinatal scanning. This may include but is not limited to:
- 3D imaging and rendering
- Fetal cardiac imaging.
- Efficiently and effectively perform pre-work by searching for relevant information related to prior study,
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with ordering and/or interpreting physician - prior studies and as needed for outpatient studies to define study goals.
- Measure all M-mode, 2D, 3D, Doppler, and color Doppler flow patterns. Calculate measurements, formulas, and ratios. Enter calculations and measurements into patient report in AS software
- Analyze images and correctly annotate in AS system.
- Act as a mentor and resource for students, sonographers and fellows in clinical situations if requested by leadership/management.
- Assist in administrative duties within the department as requested. This may include but is not limited to assisting with scheduling, research and quality performance, data acquisition and collection and clinical demonstrations.
- Participate in research studies as requested.
- Must demonstrate consistent proficiency in competencies for this position.
- Assist Manager with EPIC and Radiant workflow and AS system or other relevant EMR system in partner hospital systems.
- Consistently arrives on shift prior to shift begin time ready and able to work.
- Demonstrates professional conduct at all times in behavior and appearance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Travels to satellite locations as needed.
Job Requirements
- Associates’ Degree or equivalent training program required.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience required.
- ARDMS OB, Fetal Echo Certifications required.
- AHA BLS Certification required.
- Nuchal Translucency preferred.
