Nemours is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Manager to join our Nemours Children’s Health team in Wilmington, DE.
The Respiratory Therapy Manager:
- Coordinates the operational activities and manages daily staff assignments, patient flow, supplies and equipment in a manner that meets the needs of practitioners and patients.
- Oversees ongoing development and retention of qualified clinical staff.
- Conducts performance reviews, disciplinary actions including termination and hiring of staff within the Respiratory Care department.
Essential Functions
1. Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee’s supervisor.
2. Responsible for facilitating a collaborative and supportive relationship between key departments within the organization in order to achieve hospital and practice goals and objectives.
3. Coordinates implementation of annual Performance Improvement plans to assure patient care quality, outcome and customer satisfaction.
4. In collaboration with the Respiratory Care Director and Business Operations Manager, is responsible for developing, monitoring and meeting the budgeted financial goals for areas of responsibility. Provides budgetary input, collates information and completes required fiscal reporting to Director of Respiratory Care. Works to maximize revenue collections and responds to requests by Central Budget Office (CBO) on billing issues and concerns.
5. Responsible for employment of clinical personnel, disciplinary action, evaluation, recommendations on salary adjustments, annual review of job descriptions and competency checklists as well as assurance of current licensure when necessary or applicable and other personnel actions as required.
6. Assures completion of all annual department, hospital and organizational requirements.
7. Collaborates with Director to conduct monthly staff meetings with all associates.
8. Manages time off requests and utilization of per diem or casual staff. Complete time and pay for assigned staff.
9. Maintains current knowledge of all applicable licensing, regulatory and accreditation standards. Assures compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements including JCAHO standards, State regulations, Life Safety Code, National Fire Prevention Association, Office of Human Protection, Americans with Disabilities Act and Clean Air Act, in areas of responsibility.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree
Graduate of a COAARC Approved Respiratory Care Program
DE State Division of Professional Regulation Respiratory Care Practitioner License, NBRC - RRT, AARC Membership
AHA-CPR Instructor, AHA-PALS Instructor, NBRC - NPS, NAECB-AE-C preferred
Three to five years of experience required
