Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Energy Solutions Project Development Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of energy projects from conception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, project management, and renewable energy technologies. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, assess feasibility, develop project plans, and drive successful implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to evaluate the potential for energy projects, including solar, BAS, hydro, and energy storage solutions.
  2. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements, objectives, and constraints, and develop customized solutions that meet their needs.
  3. Lead the development of project proposals, including technical specifications, cost estimates, and timelines.
  4. Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and contractors to design and engineer energy systems that maximize efficiency and performance.
  5. Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
  6. Oversee the permitting and regulatory approval process for energy projects, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  7. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address technical, financial, and operational challenges.
  8. Monitor project performance and analyze data to identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.
  9. Provide technical expertise and support to sales and business development teams during the pre-sales process, including client consultations and presentations.
  10. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in energy project development, and incorporate relevant advancements into project designs.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or related field). Advanced degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy project development, engineering, or related fields.
  3. Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects from conception to completion.
  4. In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies, including solar PV, wind turbines, energy storage systems, and grid integration.
  5. Strong understanding of energy markets, policies, and regulations, particularly in the context of renewable energy deployment.
  6. Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, with demonstrated experience in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  8. Analytical mindset with the ability to assess technical and financial data, identify key insights, and make data-driven decisions.
  9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity and uncertainty in project environments.
  10. Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE, LEED) are a plus.
