We are partnered with a leading Owner’s Representative firm dedicated to ensuring high-performance building systems for their clients. They are seeking a Senior Commissioning Specialist to join their team and play a key role in delivering best-in-class commissioning services.
Position Overview:
The Senior Commissioning Specialist will be responsible for leading commissioning efforts for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems across a variety of building projects. This role requires deep technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that all systems function efficiently, reliably, and as intended.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead commissioning projects from pre-design through occupancy, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client expectations.

Develop and implement commissioning plans, checklists, and testing protocols.

Review design documents, specifications, and submittals to verify compliance with project requirements.

Conduct on-site inspections, functional performance testing, and troubleshooting of MEP systems.

Collaborate with design teams, contractors, and client representatives to identify and resolve system performance issues.

Prepare detailed commissioning reports, documenting findings, deficiencies, and recommendations.

Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior commissioning staff.

Stay up to date with industry standards, codes, and best practices, ensuring continuous improvement in commissioning processes.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.

10 years of experience in MEP commissioning, preferably within an Owner’s Representative or consulting environment.

Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as energy efficiency and sustainability practices.

Experience with industry standards such as ASHRAE, LEED, and NEBB.

Proficiency in commissioning software, test equipment, and reporting tools.

Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

PE, CxA, CEM, or other relevant certifications preferred.

Ability to travel to project sites within the Minneapolis metro area.
