Overview
Join Our Growing Medical Team! We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Biller and Coder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of medical billing processes, with specialized experience in personal injury claims and terminology, ensuring both accurate and timely claim submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately code medical diagnoses, procedures, and treatments using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for personal injury cases.
- Process and submit insurance claims to the appropriate insurance companies (auto, workers' compensation, etc.).
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, addressing issues and resubmitting claims as needed.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
- Work closely to ensure that billing is in line with current medical coding practices.
- Maintain detailed records of all billing transactions and patient accounts.
- Address any billing inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and all other healthcare billing requirements.
Requirements
- Exceptional problem-solving skills to effectively address and resolve billing issues.
- Proficiency in medical billing, coding, and collections
- Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, and medical terminology
- Experience with medical office systems, such as Athena, is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
