NeoGenomics is looking for an Accessioning Technician Lead for our lab near Durham, NC who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow.
Our labs operate 24/7, multiple shift arrangements may be available.

Position Summary:
The Accessioning Technician Lead works under little or no supervision and demonstrates proficiency in all Core Responsibilities of an Accessioning Technician. This is the advanced level for the Accessioning job category responsible for assisting the department supervisor/manager, participating in training Accessioning Specialists, and coordinating and reviewing the work of assigned staff in addition to performing the full range of specimen processing procedures. The Accessioning Lead typically leads 5 employees; may lead fewer than 5 employees depending on the size of the department and/or site.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates proficiency in all Core Responsibilities of an Accessioning Technician and maintains knowledge of all functions
- Assists in supervising Accessioning Technicians by monitoring workflow to meet deadlines; distributing and reviewing work assignments; scheduling; training employees on company and laboratory policies, procedures, techniques and on equipment; resolving work related problems of staff; and providing input for performance appraisals and disciplinary actions
- Recommends and implements project improvements within the department
- Works effectively with other departments to resolve problems
- Follows all company and departmental SOP’s
- Oversees QA, daily checklist and equipment maintenance logs
- Meets with Group Leads from other departments to ensure open communication on a regular basis
- Recommends and institutes corrective action promptly, if not immediately, following a qualified incident, potential problems, or corporate recommendation
- Expedites the flow of work to maximize capacity by evaluating systems and recommending enhancements and coordinating the resolution of production problems/issues involving other departments
- Communicates with Logistics and Supervisors about FedEx and courier issues/changes
- Reviews department activities to ensure compliance with departmental polices and federal, state and local regulations
- Assists with the departments’ annual competency testing process and documentation
Experience, Education and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three (3) or more years of experience equivalent to an Accessioning Technician preferred
- Proficient with MS Office programs
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Must be able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment and maintain production and quality standards
- Must be able to work in a biohazard environment and comply with safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual
