NeoGenomics has an opening for a Cytotechnologist who wants to continue to learn in order to allow our company to grow. This is an onsite for at the Lee Health system and will work a Monday - Friday day shift. This role also includes a $10,000.00 Sign on Bonus!

Position Summary :
As a Cytotechnologist you will precisely and accurately perform a variety of routine and specialized Cyotechnology procedures. You will research, troubleshoot, and resolve cytology related inquiries and problems within the laboratory. This position will require the staining, mounting, and initial screening analysis of cells to detect evidence of cancer and other pathological conditions following established standards and practices. Immediate evaluation preparation, staining and initial analysis may also be required.
Responsibilities :
- Receives cytology specimens and ensures proper specimen ID, accessioning and labeling of all tissue samples
- Processes paperwork associated with accessioning and reporting
- Performs routine and non-routine activities involved in the preparation of slides for cytology evaluation by pathologist(s), according to established SOPs
- Submits slides with abnormal cell structures to pathologists for further examination
- Examines cell samples to detect abnormalities in the color, shape, or size of cellular components and patterns
- Provides patient clinical data or microscopic findings to assist pathologists in the preparation of pathology reports
- Maintains effective laboratory operations by adhering to standards of specimen collection, preparation, or laboratory safety
- Examines specimens using microscopes to evaluate specimen quality
- Helps maintain acceptable productivity, TAT and workflow
- Reports problems concerning individual cases, tests, equipment, and supplies to the department supervisor or lead technologist to ensure timely resolution
