Position Summary Information
Summary
The Business Analyst serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs.
Principal Functional Responsibilities
Operational and Process Analysis: Conducts and/or facilitates operational and process analyses; translates high-level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications.
Project Management: Coordinates the development and execution of test plans. Assists with project management, including initial review and analysis of requests, project planning and scheduling.
Documentation: Assists with creating documentation, procedures, presentations or training materials.
Software Evaluation: Assists in the evaluation of new software and new features and recommends appropriate strategies for their adoption.
Training: Facilitate training and provide support to business users on new systems or processes.
Testing: Conduct user acceptance testing to ensure the functionality of system solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, communications, or equivalent OR equivalent work experience as a Business Analyst.
- Experience with creating documentation, training materials, requirements and testing plans; process analysis and project management; working with an integrated administrative computer system.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Student Information System (SIS) applications, preferably Banner.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment.
Department Specific Information
Available salary range: $52,087 – $66,412, commensurate with experience.
