Position Summary Information
Summary
Responsible for managing the distribution of dental materials, instruments, and equipment within the predoctoral dental clinic. This role involves maintaining inventory, preparing and dispensing dental supplies to predoctoral students, faculty, and staff in addition to ensuring proper sterilization and storage, and assisting with administrative duties related to stock control and record-keeping.
Principal Functional Responsibilities
Dispensing and Inventory Management: Prepare and dispense dental materials, instruments, and medications as per prescriptions or requests. Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure stock levels are adequate. Monitor expiration dates and dispose of outdated materials properly. Order and restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Sterilization and Compliance: Ensure all dental instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored according to infection control protocols. Follow safety and health regulations in handling and disposing of dental materials.
Administrative and Customer Support: Record and track dispensed materials for billing and usage reports. Assist dental professionals with locating and retrieving necessary supplies. Provide basic guidance on the proper use and storage of dental materials. Handle clerical tasks such as data entry, filing, and processing supply orders.
Radiology: Taking radiographs and assisting dental students with taking radiographs
Other Duties: Will be cross-trained for other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Dental Assistant
- Radiology Certification
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 360/365
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with inventory management
- Prior experience working in dental school clinic
- Coronal Polishing Certification
- Pit and Fissure Sealant Certification
Physical Requirements
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment. Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
Department Specific Information
Starting Salary Range: $46,300 – $54,788, commensurate with experience.
