Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Editor expected to work independently in a promotional agency environment with assigned brand teams to enforce quality control across core editorial functions (editing, fact checking, proofreading). Additionally, is expected to demonstrate expertise regarding relevant FDA regulations and provide some guidance to Associate Editor / Editor-level staff. Has worked on at least one launching product and is familiar with a range of product categories and therapeutic classes. Second-Shift Senior Editor to provide guidance to second-shift Associate Editor / Editor-level staff. The Editor will provide organizational support as needed, including co-monitoring workflow to aid the Second-Shift Editorial Manager with prioritizing and delegating to other second-shift editors. In absence of the Editorial Manager, able to : prioritize and expedite workflow; troubleshoot content and process issues; maintain communication with producers, brand editors, and team members as needed; serves as editorial point person for new business initiatives (presentation decks, concepts, branding materials).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Editing : Ensure correct spelling, grammatical accuracy, adherence to AMA / brand style, and consistency across brand deliverables.
- Proofreading : Maintains version control, ensures project file integrity, and verifies that requested changes have been accurately incorporated across rounds of project routing.
- Communication : Ensures daily communication to update internal team members on all aspects of projects.
- Compliance : Helps ensuring and enforcing compliance with OPDP / regulatory guidelines.
- Cross-functional Collaboration : Collaborate and communicate with team members in a productive manner to ensure goals are being met while maintaining quality control.
- Fact checking : Verify factual information in projects vs supporting references.

Typical hours are 9 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm, but the position may require work beyond those hours, including after hours or weekends, as needed or directed. Second Shift : Typical hours are 4 pm - midnight, but the position may require work beyond those hours, including after hours or weekends, as needed or directed. All candidates must complete brief copy editing, fact-checking, and proofreading tests on site in conjunction with the interview.
SALARY
75,000 - $100,000 annually
