Janitor

Description

Summary

Provide daily upkeep and cleanliness and provide routine cleaning tasks.  The Janitor is responsible for contributing to the overall upkeep of the building.

Essential Job Elements

• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobby, restrooms and other work areas.
• Sweeps and scrubs floors.
• Cleans rugs and carpets.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets.
• Wipe down sinks and faucets.
• Clean glass and mirrors.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Other custodial duties as assigned.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Work Experience

• High School
• 1 years of experience in custodial role

Skills/Knowledge

• Cleaning skills and able to safely use cleaning materials
• Attention to detail to keeping a facility clean.
• Must be organized and able to handle a multi-task environment
• Ability to work on single task / procedures Highly repetitive or routine duties
• Work independently and motivated
