Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to fabricate and repair various wires and cables used to support our television engineering operations.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Test the functionality of incoming cable assemblies as they are received from field operations.
• Label cable assemblies as appropriate and allocate them to the field shop for distribution or remove for repair.
• Repair and fabricate cable assemblies as the incoming cable is received and allocated for repair.
• Assist in training employees and freelance help in NEP fabrication techniques.
• Assist in training apprentices in NEP fabrication techniques. Additionally, serve as a guide for apprentices in tool technology, techniques, and safety.
• Offer new and innovative techniques, methodologies, and materials to improve systems, installation, and fabrication.
• Fabricate all copper cables utilized in mobile units.
• Manage/coordinate inventory of adapters, connectors, and associated components.
• Work with systems/engineering support with project-based jobs - wire prep, termination, installation, lacing, and testing.

Position Requirements:

• Associates or Technical Degree preferred.
• Experience in fabricating video, audio, and camera cable is required.
• Experience working with broadcast equipment and technology is desired.
• Must be able to meet deadlines and manage simultaneous projects.
• Requires excellent soldering and cable termination skills.
