Nephrology Associates is seeking a full time Check in/Check Out Patient Care Coordinator with Medical Assistant experience to work in our Lewes office. Candidate should possess excellent customer service skills. The individual must be detail oriented and be able to multi-task. Familiar with medical terminology and EMR. Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
Candidate must be willing to go to our Milford office when needed
Job Responsibilities
Check In
· Answer phones, handle messages
· Prepare for next day schedules
· Greet Patients – and process their information/check insurance
· Collect Co-pay
· Prepare and mail new patient packets and obtain medical records
Check Out
· Answer phones, handle messages
· Discharging office patients and Scheduling follow-up appointments
· Printing labs for future appointments
· Scheduling any testing requested by physician
· Giving any required specialist referral contact information or make an appointment with the specialist
· Verifying that patient has prescriptions
· Informing Pre-Authorization Coordinator of diagnostic study orders and blood transfusion
Candidate must be willing to go to our Milford office when needed (mileage reimbursed), have a stable work history, good work ethic and a positive attitude. Must be flexible, a team player and able to provide 3 professional references.
· Have at least 2 years of experience working in a medical practice
· Frequent sitting and standing
· Learn computer software programs
· Ability to work quickly/ well under pressure in unexpected situations
· Have reliable transportation in the event of having to travel to other offices
· Repeat activities according to a routine procedure
· Adapt to changes with ease
· Perform variety of duties which may often change
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
·Work consistent with HIPPA and OSHA regulation.
·General knowledge of nursing and health care terminology.
·Excellent patient care skills.
·Effectively communicate with patients, as well as healthcare professionals.
Physical Requirements
·Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
·May require extended periods of walking and standing.
·Occasionally requires the ability to push wheelchair-bound patients to exam rooms.
·Able to carry up to 45lbs frequently, and 50lbs occasionally.
·Able to bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
