Merrillville Vascular Center at 100 W. 86th Avenue in Merrillville is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our vascular clinical team who understands the needs of our patients and will put care above everything else.

At Merrillville Vascular Center, we perform highly specialized care to End Stage Renal Disease patients and their dialysis access. This center performs outpatient interventional radiologic procedures. We work with AV Fistulas, Grafts, and Central venous catheters, providing multiple procedures such as angioplasty, vessel mapping and thrombectomy.

What You’ll Do

  • On-site training in Interventional Radiologic Procedures. No experience required.
  • Performing radiology procedures as ordered by the physician(s) in such a way to assure reliability of results and patient safety.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and use of proper aseptic technique and procedural equipment.
  • Sets up imaging equipment for procedures, takes images of the patient via the C-arm and records results.
  • Operates computer and radiographic equipment for image production, documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
  • Prepares the operating room for procedures including retrieval of the basic supplies needed.
  • Assists the physicians with fluoroscopic procedures and special radiographic procedures.
  • Follows radiation safety, universal precautions, infection control, sterile technique, and fire safety.
  • Maintain documentation of patient testing information
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • What You’ll Bring

  • 1 years’ experience with C-Arm preferred.
  • Current state RT license required.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) credential required.
  • Basic life support certification preferred.
  • 1 year patient care experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent patient care and customer service skills
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to maintain professionalism and customer focus in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Must be self-started who can work independently as well as in a highly collaborative, fast paced, team environment.
  • Patient-focused with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • EMR experience
