Position Summary
This role is a full time Medical Office Front Desk position with Medical Assistant experience for our Newark office. The position requires possess excellent customer service skills, the ability to multi-task, and offer a high level of attention to detail. Certified Medical Assistant is preferred, but familiarity with medical terminology and EMR is necessary for success.
Key Responsibilities

- Greet patients when they arrive with a friendly demeanor
- Schedule, cancel and reschedule patient appointments
- Print out electronic orders for patients
- Submit prior authorization requests
- Scan and upload documents to the patient's electronic medical record
- Ability to competently handle patient calls coming through on a multi-line phone system
- Optimize patient satisfaction through excellent customer service skills
- Utilize a multi-line phone system, fax machine, printer, copier and scanner
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient records
Education and Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Two years of Medical Assistant experience required
- Certified Medical Assistant preferred
- CPR Certification preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Work consistent with HIPPA and OSHA regulation.
- General knowledge of nursing and health care terminology.
- Excellent patient care skills.
- Effectively communicate with patients, as well as healthcare professionals.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- May require extended periods of walking and standing.
- Occasionally requires the ability to push wheelchair-bound patients to exam rooms.
- Able to carry up to 45lbs frequently, and 50lbs occasionally.
- Able to bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
