TITLE: Senior Packaging Engineer
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Packaging Engineer will fill a critical role for the Robotic Endoscopy team. They will be responsible for developing sterile and non-sterile packaging as well as fluidics line sets and drapes to meet the unique needs of our robotic endoscopy platform. They will also play a key role in sterilization validation of our devices and accessories. This role represents an opportunity to start with a blank slate on a new product to solve unique challenges inherent to our robotic system.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is between $140,000 and $170,000 depending on experience. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for equity, benefits and 401(K) with matching.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be the primary owner of the fluidics line sets, drapes, and packaging for the Triton Robotic endoscopy system
- Own the definition of requirements, test method development, and design verification of the above.
- Make major contributions to sterilization validation execution and assist in other V&V activities as necessary
- Solve tricky engineering problems through foundational invention and subsequent iteration and prototyping.
- Bring both an experimental and analytical approach to your work while creating specific designs that solve for the unique challenges of our devices
- Lead assessments and make recommendations for solving challenging design problems at both the component and system levels, via inspection, testing, analysis, and experimentation.
- Significant hands-on building and testing of multiple generations of prototypes.
- Use DFM principles and challenge medical device packaging norms to reduce cost and simplify assembly.
- Identify, select, and work closely with vendors.
- Interact with physicians and users in order to verify and validate assumptions and further converge on proper product definition.
- Create and maintain Solidworks CAD models and detailed drawings.
- Be able to both collaborate closely and show a high degree of self-direction.
- B.S., Mechanical or Packaging Engineering or related.
- 5 years of work experience as a hands-on engineer in medical device packaging or disposable devices
- Demonstrated experience working with cross functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to generate original ideas by history of patents and IP.
- A driven outlook and with a strong desire to succeed as an engineer, as a team, and as a company.
- An inventive aptitude balanced with discipline and detail-orientation.
- Experience with medical device manufacturing.
- Great understanding of design controls and what is needed to get a product into patients.
- Experience with disposable medical devices, especially catheters, endoscopes or similar.
- Experience with sterilization validation and biocompatibility testing
- Developed products from early phase development to market release.
- Experience in a start-up environment.
- Proficient with SolidWorks.
- Experience creating and managing schedules, budgets, and plans.
