What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electronics Technician position at Neptune?
Position Summary:
The Electronics Technician works with the Engineering staff to develop, test, and
support electronics products. This individual will apply his/her technical skills to build, test, and
troubleshoot electronic products and test fixtures, as well as collect, organize and present test data. This
is a self-directed position, with growth opportunity and continual skill development, which helps facilitate
operation of the Electronics Lab and support new product development.
Objectives:
1. Perform testing of electronic products and software for function validation, performance
characterization, and failure mode identification.
2. Design/build test circuits and fixtures to facilitate development testing.
3. Troubleshoot electronic circuits, systems, and test fixtures.
4. Create and maintain documentation of product material lists, parts drawings, and other project data.
Requirements:
Education: 2-year Associate Degree in electronic technology or equivalent military training
Related Experience: 3 years minimum as a technician
Soft Skills: Time management, self-starter, ability to multi-task, excellent verbal/written communication
Special Skills: soldering/de-soldering, advanced computer skills, some programming proficiency is a plus
(LabVIEW preferred), use of electronic test equipment, following test procedures, and reading
schematics.
