Nerds On Call is growing. We're looking to fill our ranks in order to maintain (and grow) our status as THE destination for customers to get the very best balance of customer care, great value and quality repair for their electronic devices in the Redding Area.

Aside from the skills below, we're not looking for fancy certs or qualifications. We're looking for people with practical experience. People who have spent their lives as the "family computer guy". Most importantly, we're looking for people with a passion for technology, helping others and a thirst for learning.
Also people who are comfortable speaking plainly to customers about their computer issues and putting it in words they can understand.

People who excel in these roles are the people who are comfortable making recommendations to customers without being overly salesy or pushy.

• Previous computer repair experience is a BIG plus.
• Must have exceptional phone/communication skills
• Must be responsible and able to work as a team or on your own
• Customer Service oriented individual
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues
• Ability to troubleshoot basic networking/internet issues
• Must have a reliable personal vehicle to drive daily in the field (No motorcycles)
• Laptop hardware repair experience a plus
• Solder Experience a BIG plus

Now Hiring Part-Time or Full-Time (20 hrs/week) Positions. Part-Time positions ALWAYS have the opportunity to turn in to Full-Time for the right people

Physical Demands: Must work in front of a computer terminal and variety of office equipment and have a dexterity of hands and fingers to use a keyboard for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Walking or standing for extended periods of time can be required on many days. Frequent bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching and reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally is expected when providing service at a client’s home and/or in the company store/locations.

Lifting and moving of computers, equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and do so multiple times a day and for extended distances (could be more than 300 feet at a time). Must be able to lift and move computers and materials weighing up to 50 pounds from shelving and benches from ground level to up to 6 ft high and move these items in and out of vehicles most of the workday. Utilize assistance devices in order to safely move heavy equipment and materials over 50 pounds.

Work Environment: Mostly indoors at shop and client locations with some outdoor work that might have some exposure to dust and odors. Position requires driving your vehicle, with travel between shop location and client’s location. Must have a valid driver's license and participate in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Pull Notice System.

Work in a busy shop environment with frequent interruptions, as well as, in private homes and local businesses. The company offers a smoke-free environment for all its employees and customers in accordance with state law.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
