Experienced Level 1 Support Technician
Only candidates local to Hauppauge will be considered. This is NOT a remote position.
Only those with at least one year of Help Desk experience will be contacted.
Job Summary:
This is NOT a remote position. The successful candidate will work closely with the IT team to ensure that computer hardware and software systems run smoothly, and that users receive timely and efficient support. The ideal candidate will be customer service-oriented, have a strong technical background, and be able to work well under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, or electronically
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems, escalating complex issues to Level 2 support when necessary
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware, operating systems, and software applications
- Advise user on appropriate action
- Follow standard help desk procedures
- Log all help desk interactions
- Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions
- Stay current with system information, changes, and updates
- Troubleshoot basic network issues
- Perform other related duties as required
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field
- Proven working experience in providing help desk support for one year
- Proficient in relevant software and hardware systems, including Microsoft Office and Windows Operating Systems
- Halo experience is a plus, or other ticketing system
- Knowledge of basic networking principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects
- A certification or equivalent is a plus
