What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial painter position at NES Fircroft?
Job Overview :
The Painter / Blaster is responsible for performing blasting and painting utilizing marine coatings. This individual is knowledgable about blasting and painting specifications such as blast profiles, millage requirements, etc.
Basic Qualifications :
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Requires a minimum 3 years experience with painting / blasting in an industrial environment and prior shipyard experience
Preferred Skills / Experience :
- Ablility to perform all blast requirements and functions utilizing all applications.
- Ability to identify and correct blast and paint deficiencies.
- Must be able to wear required PPE including a protective suit and respirator.
- Ability to set up, operate, and maintain equipment including spray guns and paint boothsAbility to multitask, learn quickly, and meet deadlines as needed
- Ability to multitask, learn quickly, and manage time effectively and efficiently.
Physical Requirements :
- Must also be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Walking, stepping, climbing, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, squatting, climbing, crawling, or sitting for long periods of time.
- Working in confined work areas and / or elevated heights
- Adjusting to varying temperatures, outdoor environments, and extended exposure to dust, moisture, humidity, loud noises, and vibrations.
- Lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
