What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Help Desk Technician position at NES Fircroft?
The job of the IT Support Technician is to provide IT technical support to the staff of the refinery and surrounding remote sites. This role will provide troubleshooting, management, monitoring, and hands on support for IT systems in the site’s support area (examples include desktops, laptops, applications, phones, mobile devices, radios, switches, fiber, wired and wireless ethernet).
Duties might include, but are not limited to:
- Performing PC builds, PC delivery, installation and repair of computing equipment
- Install, test and repair computer hardware, peripherals, and software
- Configure and deploy mobile devices to end users (smartphones and tablets)
- Provide mobile device training to end users
- Provide desk side and remote support for computing environments
- Consistently follow standard policies and processes
- Handling technically complex IT support issues
- Track and maintain IT hardware
- Able to actively participate in an after-hours (call-out) schedule in support of critical systems and infrastructure
- Assisting, where needed, with the installation of other IT supported systems
Basic/Required:
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 or more years of experience in applicable Information Technology discipline
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in the refinery around process equipment
- Excellent customer service
- Compliance with refinery safety requirements including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment when necessary
- Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
- Candidate will need to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) during pre-employment process

Physical requirements:
- Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to perform/comply with the following:
- Lift computer equipment that weighs up to 30 lbs. from the floor and safely carry up 4 flights of stairs
- Bend, stoop, or crawl under furniture to connect wiring
- Bend to pick up equipment and load pull cart
- Lift an individual item weighing up to 30 lbs.
- Push/pull equipment on a cart of up to 100 lbs.
- Climb 4 or more flights of stairs to access field hardware
- Be clean shaven to comply with the refinery safety facial hair policy
- Follow refinery safety requirements including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment when necessary
