What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material handler forklift position at NES Fircroft?
Job Summary :
The Material Handler will be responsible for transporting parts and materials throughout the facility utilizing a forklift or hand truck in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Move expensive / fragile parts as well as warehouse materials throughout the site.
- The ability to follow pre-determined routes for material movement.
- Manage crate and box inventory
- Deliver and manage scrap parts inventory
- Visually inspect repaired parts for handling damage and receive them per process
- Crate and box parts utilizing a foam machine, saw and other tools.
- Ability to pack / unpack crates, boxes, and pallets
- Maintain inventory of wooden and plastic pallets as well as various crates; store and stack them neatly,
- deliver as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements :
- High School Diploma / GED
- Minimum of one year experience in a warehouse, stockroom, or storage yard
- Ability to operate a forklift rated for over 15,000 pounds.
- Able to work outdoors, year-round, in a variety of weather conditions.
- Computer skills (Microsoft Outlook and Excel)
- Ability to be certified in crane and rigging operations.
Desired Characteristics :
Certified to operate a sit down and stand-up forklift and / or crane and rigging operations.
