The Sr. Procurement Manager will play a critical role in planning, coordinating and executing the strategic sourcing and procurement activities. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies to optimize costs, quality, and delivery timelines for materials, equipment, services and other key projects and negotiating contracts for such projects, in close alignment with other key stakeholders from the Business, Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Legal and Finance. This position requires strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of purchasing and strategic sourcing, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to effectively source and execute sourcing agreements in alignment with Business strategy and objectives.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing: Formulate and implement sourcing strategies that align with business goals to ensure cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services while complying with the Client Procurement, EHS, Sustainability, and other relevant policies.
Purchasing Transactions: Oversee the procurement/sourcing process and manage a team of buyers to ensure adherence to procurement policies and procedures. Ensure efficient management of the Purchase Order process, from Purchase Requisition to Accounts Payable functions, in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders and Business Process owners.
Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers/vendors to meet supply requirements in terms of quality, quantity, delivery time, and cost. Foster and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure the reliable and timely delivery of goods and services.
Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure the best total cost of ownership, including pricing, payment terms, quality, service levels, and supply milestones agreements. Ensure contracts mitigate risks and align with business objectives.
Cost Management: Analyze deals from a total cost of ownership perspective to identify optimization opportunities. Implement cost reduction initiatives through effective negotiation, stakeholder/supplier partnerships, competitive bidding, and alternative sourcing strategies.
Risk Management: Assess and mitigate supply chain risks. Develop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions, unexpected macroeconomic changes, and other contingencies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including stakeholders from business, engineering, finance, operations, and legal, to align sourcing activities with business requirements. Provide guidance and support on procurement processes and best practices.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual agreements. Conduct regular performance reviews and take corrective actions as needed to drive continuous improvement. Develop dashboards and reports to track and report on specific commodities, contracts, or services.
Compliance and Ethics: Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to sourcing and procurement activities. Promote ethical business practices and uphold the highest standards of integrity in all dealings with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
- 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain management, or a commercial negotiating role, preferably in a capital-intensive industry such as process manufacturing, cement/building materials, or energy.
- Experience in negotiating and executing large, complex contracts within a matrix environment.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, perform cost and risk analysis, and make data-driven decisions based on total cost and value.
- Ability to support safety, health, environmental compliance, and sustainability initiatives.
- Demonstrated expertise in sourcing processes, including RFPs/RFQs/RFIs; supplier evaluation, contract negotiation and management, and supplier monitoring & development.
- Proficiency in sourcing tools and technologies, including e-sourcing, Microsoft Office suite, ERP systems, analytics/visualization platforms, and project management tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to influence and drive change within the organization as needed.
- Proven track record of driving cost savings, process improvements, and optimizing supplier performance and compliance.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to EH&S compliance, procurement, and supply chain management.
